Profile:
Diego Rocha is a writer and director. He lives between Brazil and London, where he
graduated with an MA in Screenwriting in 2009.

Diego began his career in advertising and has written and directed more than 200 TV
commercials and over a dozen documentaries for TV and production companies in Brazil.
Since 2005, Diego is a frequent collaborator in the production company Aldeia, having
worked as scriptwriter and director in several projects of advertising and TV.

Since 2013, Diego works as a creative director consultant for TV Cultura, one of the most
respected Brazilian television networks headquartered in São Paulo. At TV Cultura, Diego
is developing a number of projects such as documentaries, Promos, TV Idents, vignettes
and the branding strategy for TV Cultura’s new on-air-look.

Alongside his work in advertising and TV, Diego is developing a number of feature-length
and short film projects.

Diego’s first feature film as a director, Writers Retreat, was filmed on Osea Island,
England, in October 2014 and produced by Moli Films Entertainment. The film premiered
at Sitges Film Festival, Spain, in October 2015.

Diego has just completed his short film The Colt, which was awarded a grant for
production by the Minas Gerais Film Commission (Brazil).

In 2012, Diego co-wrote the short film Gypsy with Portuguese director David Bonneville.
Gypsy has been screened at several film festivals, including SXSW, Hamptons
International Film Festival, London Shorts Film Festival and the 66th Festival de Cannes,
where it won a “Coup de Coeur”.

In partnership with director David Bonneville, Diego wrote the screenplay for the feature
film “The Last Bath”, which was recently awarded a grant for the film production by the
Portuguese Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual (ICA). The film is scheduled for production
in 2018.

The screenplay for Diego’s next feature film, “The Fall”, has just been awarded a
development grant by CODEMIG, the Economic Development Company of Minas Gerais,
a company linked to the Minas Gerais Government and a partner of the State Secretary of
Culture.
