I am a writer/director working in film and advertising. I live between Brazil and London, where I graduated with an MA in Screenwriting in 2009.
I started my career as a copywriter in advertising agencies. I have also worked as a creative director for different ad agencies and TV Channels in Brazil before moving into film directing.
As a film director, I tend to focus on projects with strong conceptual ideas. I also like to work with actors and on films that require a natural, realistic feel. As a result, I have developed strong relationships with clients in the private and public sector who usually need to communicate and reinforce credible social responsibility as part of their image.
Since 2013, I work as a creative director consultant for TV Cultura, one of the most respected Brazilian television networks headquartered in São Paulo. Alongside my work in advertising and TV, I am also developing a number of feature-length and short film projects.
My first feature film as a director, Writers Retreat, was filmed on Osea Island, England, in October 2014 and premiered at Sitges Film Festival, Spain, in October 2015. My short film The Colt, which was awarded a grant for production by the Minas Gerais Film Commission (Brazil), premiered at the Prix Jeneusse Ibero-Americano Film Festival 2017 in São Paulo, as a finalist for Best Short Film.
In 2012, I co-wrote the short film Gypsy with Portuguese director David Bonneville.
Gypsy has been screened at several film festivals, including SXSW, Locarno, Hamptons International Film Festival, Vila do Conde, London Shorts Film Festival and the 66th Festival de Cannes, where it won a “Coup de Coeur”.
